Beeswax Food WrapsApril 15, 2019
I’ve been meaning to make some of these for a while, so I’ve finally jumped in and started the process. Other than the actual cloth itself, I’ve procured the supplies for the project.
The only thing you really need is beeswax, but after doing a little research I found there were some recipies which promised a better result with a couple more ingredients.
Beeswax: beeswax has antibacterial properties which makes it perfect for this type of use
Jojoba Oil: Makes the wraps more pliable
Pine Resin: Makes the wraps tacky (so it sticks to itself and other stuff kinda like cling wrap
Cloth: It seems like organic cotton has been the most recommended, so that’s likely what I’ll try.. I might break into the stash of fabric at home (which is hopefully cotton, most likely not organic)
I plan on following the instructions laid out here (all fairly similar)
